I love chocolate. I love ice cream. And I really love quick and easy desserts! If you've been around here a while then this isn't news to you. I've got a crazy sweet tooth! My boys inherited that sweet tooth from me as well and they both love dessert, especially anything homemade. I've been in the mood for an ice cream sundae lately so I decided to whip up a pan of brownies to create what I like to call "the ultimate sundae."

Hello, friends! How was your Christmas? I know this holiday looked a bit different for many of us this year, but I hope you had a wonderful day no matter what you did or who you spent it with. Our celebration was small and intimate; just me, my parents and my youngest son. This was the first Christmas day that I didn’t get to be with my oldest son which, I'll be honest, felt really weird. I knew this day would come eventually, I mean that’s what happens when your children grow up. Thank goodness for modern technology and FaceTime!

Happy Holidays, friends! I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving, despite the crazy circumstances we are in right now. In some ways this year has flown by, and on the flip side, in the midst of this pandemic, it seems like it's been the longest year ever. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some normalcy in my life! I decorated for Christmas early this year - like really early - but it was good for both my mind and soul. Twinkling lights, Christmas music and everything warm and cozy lifts my spirit and brings me joy, and that's all that really matters, right?

Did you know that July is National Blueberry Month? I don't need an excuse to eat blueberries - they are one of my favorite fruits! Not only are they sweet and scrumptious, they have many health benefits too. Blueberries are not only low in calories but high in vitamin C, vitamin K and fiber. They also are high in antioxidants which can reduce DNA damage, a leading driver of aging and cancer. Blueberries are also good for your heart and can help lower your cholesterol! So there is my PSA for the day haha. To celebrate these little gems, I'm sharing one of my new favorite dessert recipes with you - No Bake Blueberry Cobbler Ice Cream Bars, featuring Hudsonville's Limited Edition Blueberry Cobbler ice cream!

Patriotic Ice Cream Parfaits

Hey friends, summer is finally here! Although it's not "official" until this weekend, we've been having summer weather here in Michigan for a few weeks now. Lots of sunny, hot and humid days, followed by somewhat cooler nights. I am absolutely loving the weather and have been enjoying my evenings and weekends sitting on my little patio and soaking in the sun and the nature around me. I've also been changing things up in the kitchen to make more meals on the grill and have cold and refreshing desserts. These cute little Patriotic Ice Cream Parfaits just happen to be one of our family's new favorites!

When my sons were very young we started a tradition with my parents to have a fun and festive Christmas Eve celebration. Instead of fixing a big dinner, we each pick a few of our favorite appetizers and make a big spread to snack on all night long. We watch our favorite holiday movies, play board games, and simply enjoy each other’s company. A few years back I decided to add to our tradition and surprise everyone with a special new recipe for dessert. This Chocolate Peppermint Stick Ice Cream Cake is one dessert that is easy to make and is adored by the whole family. It tastes like Christmas and is beautiful too!

Happy New Year, friends! I hope you all enjoyed your holidays and got to spend some time relaxing with family and friends. This is my first post of 2018, one that I had hoped to have done much sooner. The holidays were so busy and this past week was absolutely nuts at work. I feel like I didn't have much time to breathe! The last few weeks I've really been reflecting on this past year and wanted to share a little bit with you.

I had much success and many wonderful opportunities in 2017. Cooking, baking, sharing my recipes with you, connecting with and building relationships with some wonderful brands. I went on a few amazing trips and got to meet new friends and see old friends as well. If you follow me on social media then you may have seen my posts about my trip to Cleveland with the American Dairy Association Mideast back in October. It was definitely one of the highlights of my year and I had so much fun learning, playing, and eating tons of good food!

Winter has officially arrived here in Michigan. After several weeks of unseasonably warm temps, we got our first snowfall this weekend. Along with that came wind and really cold temperatures. I already feel like I'm in hibernation mode! I'll be honest with you, I've lived in Michigan my entire life but I am not a fan of winter. Although the snow is beautiful to look at, I hate being cold and I can't stand icy roads. But I suck it up and deal with it though because there are so many other things to love about our beautiful state.

I don't know about you guys, but I am SO glad the weekend is here! I have had such a crazy week. Work has been busier than I could ever imagine, the kids are getting ready to wrap up this semester of classes, and I've got so much to do to get ready for Christmas! I've got maybe half of my shopping done...I'm so behind! Please tell me I'm not alone??

Hi friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It's hard to believe it's come and gone, and now we are switching gears and getting into Christmas mode. We got our tree up this weekend and I'm slowly working on decorating the rest of the house. I've also been baking up a storm to get a head start on my holiday baking. Anyone else doing the same?

Although I love everything pumpkin when fall rolls around, I have an equal amount of love for apples as well. It's been a tradition since my boys were little to head to our local orchard and pick apples and enjoy copious amounts of fresh cider and freshly baked doughnuts. We eat plenty of apples as snacks, but I love to cook with them as well. From savory dishes to sweet desserts, apples are so versatile and can be made into so many things!

Dinner Divas Weekly Menu Plan - Week 20

The #DinnerDivas weekly menu plan features (mostly) healthy, seasonal foods that don't take all day to prepare.
Happy Friday! Who's ready for the long holiday weekend? I know I am! This has been the longest week ever. So busy at work, so busy getting my boys ready to get back to school, and my firstborn turned 21 a few days ago. Crazy, huh? I honestly can't figure out how my baby is 21 years old already! I will be welcoming the long weekend with open arms and can't wait to spend some time with my family relaxing.

This weeks' menu plan is filled with plenty of tasty food and I know I'll be kicking off my weekend with one or two of the Pastry Chef Online's amazing Top Shelf Margaritas. Saturday breakfast will definitely be Comfortably Domestic's Huevos Rancheros Savory Oats. And for dessert? I can't wait to make a batch of our favorite Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream! Let's dig in, shall we?

There are so many things to do during the summer in Michigan. Not only do we have the Great lakes, inland lakes, beaches and sand dunes, but we have a ton of other outdoor activities to enjoy. From concerts in the park to amazing zoos to baseball games, there is plenty to do to keep your family busy. There are also some hidden gems, like MOO-ville Creamery and farm. Not only can you stop into the store for scoops of your favorite creamy ice cream, but there's a petting zoo, large children's playground, and tours of the farm. You can choose a self-guided tours as well as public tours, which is much more in depth, which is what my mom and I did a few weeks ago. I just couldn't wait to check the farm out for myself!

Homemade ice cream is my jam. Ever since my boys gifted me with an ice cream maker for Mother's Day several years ago, I've been spending my summers whipping up all sorts of delicious frozen treats. From ice cream to frozen yogurt and even sorbet, the possibilities are endless with this machine. Since July is National Ice Cream Month, I couldn't let it pass by without sharing a few of my favorite recipes! This Mint Chocolate Chunk ice cream is a family favorite in my house, and baking up a batch of fresh chocolate wafer cookies and turning them into ice cream sandwiches was the best idea I've had in a long time.

It has been such a busy few weeks, I feel like I've not been around much. Between a trip to Kansas, a busy work schedule, and the holiday weekend, it's been go, go, go! Speaking of the holiday weekend, I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July! Ours was pretty low key - my oldest came home for the long weekend so I got to spend time with both of my boys. My parents came over on the 4th as well and we had a delicious cookout filled with cheese stuffed burgers, my mom's famous potato salad, baked beans, and potato chips and dip. Isn't that the most traditional Americana menu ever? HA!

One of my favorite things about summer is getting to eat all the ice cream. I'm sure many of you can understand and agree completely. Now don't get me wrong I eat ice cream all year round, but during the summer I go all out. Lots of homemade ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes, and everything else in between. Speaking of milkshakes, these Coconut Cream Pie Milkshakes are my jam. I whipped them up a few weeks ago and haven't stopped making them since!

These delicious little bites are also flourless, and have a secret ingredient that helps hold them together and make them healthier. Any guesses on what my secret is?

So remember a few days ago I shared a gorgeous coffee cake with you? And in that post I told you all about a meal kit challenge that I'm doing with Milk Means More. Well, these cupcakes are the result of my second "basket" of ingredients! Now if you read that post, you may remember what I had to work for my second dessert recipe. My required ingredients were butter, caramel sauce, cinnamon, and.......
