Dark Chocolate Waffles with Cherry Syrup | The Chef Next Door #SundaySupper
We all know how much I love breakfast, so I'm not going to bore you with my thesis on weekend breakfast making. It's not like you haven't heard it before. What I will say is this - I love having sweets for breakfast. Whether it's pancakes or French toast or waffles, I typically make sweet dishes over savory. But that's the sweet tooth in me taking over. She really likes sweet treats.

These Dark Chocolate Waffles with Cherry Syrup are hands down my favorite waffles at the moment. I mean, who wouldn't love chocolate for breakfast? It's like you're eating dessert for breakfast, and that is perfectly acceptable to me. Don't you agree?

Savory Ham & Cheese Waffles #BrunchWeek

The Savory Ham & Cheese Waffles are crispy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside.
Filled with plenty of ham and gooey cheese, and topped with a sunny side up egg, they make the perfect Brunch dish!
I'm so excited to share with you all that this week I'm participating in #BrunchWeek 2016! Thirty seven bloggers from around the country will showcase their best brunch dishes, from cocktails to cakes, breakfast breads, tarts, and quiche - there is something for everyone! Hosted by Terri from Love and Confections and Christie from A Kitchen Hoor’s Adventures, this is the 4th annual #BrunchWeek. I'm so excited to have you join us this year as we celebrate Brunch and prepare for Mother's Day!

I've got five brand spankin' new brunch recipes to share with you this week. That's right, FIVE! I've got sweet and I've got savory, and I hope you'll love everything as much as my family did. First up, we've got these Savory Ham & Cheese Waffles. Crispy on the inside but soft and chewy on the inside, they are bursting with flavor from the salty ham and intense Cabot White Oak Cheddar Cheese that's tucked inside. Topped with a gorgeous sunny side up egg, it's the brunch dish that will have your family asking for more!

Toasted Coconut Belgian Waffles

These toasted coconut waffles are crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and will melt in your mouth!

Friends, did you know there is such a thing as Waffle Week? Well, there is! And it was all this week! To celebrate, a group of my food blogger friends and I decided to develop a bunch of new waffle recipes to share with you. These recipes are epic, people. EPIC!

From appetizer waffles to breakfast waffles to dessert waffles, there is something for everyone. I seriously want to try every single recipe that my friends made - they all look absolutely amazing! You can find a list of all the recipes at the end of this post. I decided to make toasted coconut waffles. Because, well, toasted coconut is just delicious. And why not?

Cornmeal Belgian Waffles with Fresh Blueberry Syrup

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for P.A.N. Cornmeal. I received product samples as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

These waffles are perfectly sweet with a bit of crunch from the cornmeal and are topped with a warm, fresh blueberry syrup that's just perfect for a summer brunch.

Breakfast is definitely my favorite meal to make on the weekends. I just love to get creative in the kitchen first thing in the morning! Whether I'm making omelets or pancakes or oatmeal, I enjoy changing things up all the time. I'm pretty sure my kids love it, too!

Often times, especially on Sunday's, we will have brunch instead of breakfast. Then I really go all out! Homemade waffles or French toast, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit....all the fixins'. We go big! I try to get us nice and full, then we don't eat again until dinner time. It's something my mom did when I was growing up, and I've tried to keep the tradition with my family as well. Just two big meals for the day, with maybe a snack in between.

Eggo™ Gluten Free Waffles

Your favorite Eggo™ waffles now offer Gluten Free options!
In Original and Cinnamon varieties, it's time to get your breakfast on!

Breakfast is such an important part of the day. Although I'm not very hungry right when I wake up, I always make sure to have something small to eat until I've got my appetite back. And I always make sure my kids eat before they get off to school. Something substantial to get them through the morning and give them energy until lunch.

We've always loved Eggo™ Waffles and honestly I always have some in my freezer. I offer the kids different options for breakfast, by Eggo™ Waffles are definitely a favorite, especially for my youngest son.

Banana Buttermilk Belgian Waffles

Light and fluffy Belgian waffles filled with bananas, perfect for breakfast any day of the week!

Well, it's that time again. Summer is over and school has started, and I'm a bit sad about it too! My oldest is off to college, and my youngest started his sophomore year in high school almost two weeks ago. I'm not sure what happened. Wasn't I just holding these tiny babies in my arms?? My oh my how time has flown by!

So, getting back to this whole school situation. Now that school has started, our mornings are hectic again. There is so much to do in the morning and so little time! Breakfast is one of the most important parts of the day and I like my kids to eat something healthy that will get them fueled up and ward off hunger until lunch. These waffles will do just that! They are light and fluffy, yet hearty, and I love the bits of banana throughout.

Gingerbread Waffles

One of my favorite parts of the holidays is making big holiday breakfasts. On both Thanksgiving and Christmas, I make a huge spread for breakfast, then later we have our holiday dinner. We really only eat two meals on both of those days, with snacks in between if we get hungry.

Each year I try something different for breakfast. From pancakes to casseroles to waffles, I love exploring new things. And no one ever leaves the table hungry.

A few years ago my mom bought me an All Clad Belgian Waffle Maker. It has to be one of my favorite toys in the kitchen. I love the fact that it makes 4 waffles at once, so it saves time. And the flavors and combinations of waffles are simply endless.

I was contemplating about what kind of new waffle to make for our Holiday Recipe challenge, and I just knew that gingerbread would be perfect. Gingerbread is synonymous with the holidays, and would make a fabulous breakfast for any winter special occasion.
