Trip to NYC

Trip to NYC

I hate that my life has been so busy lately. Too busy to blog every day. Too busy to sit on the front porch with a glass of tea and listen to the birds. Too busy to enjoy the summer with my kids. It's not fair!

I know every working mom goes through the same thing, but I'm feeling sad about it lately. Life is too short to not enjoy every single moment of it! I think working from home is hardest for me during the summer, because my boys are home and I want to do lots of fun things with them but I can't. I know I have to get my work done between the hours of 9am - 5pm!

Starting today I am taking a vow to enjoy the little things, not get so stressed about things that really don't matter, and ignore the laundry and the dirty dishes sometimes so I can hang out with my boys. They are getting older and I know I need to cherish this time with them before they graduate and head off to college. Then what will I do?

So, getting back to the title of my post. Last week I headed out to Jersey City, NJ for a business conference. In case you didn't know (which I didn't at first), Jersey City is directly across the bay from NYC. I was so excited when I got to my hotel and saw the WTC directly across the water! I've never been to NJ or NY before so this was exciting! I packed in as much as I could in the free time I had to explore the sights, sounds and tastes of NYC.

Here's a quick recap of my trip in pictures...

The view of NYC from my hotel room

The nighttime NYC skyline from the pier outside my hotel

Coffee Gelato from Chelsea Market

My view of the Empire State Building from the High Line

Lobster Capellini from Fino Restaurant in the Financial District

My dear friend, Ofra, and I in Times Sqaure

The beautiful Statue of Liberty

Of course I took hundreds of pics, but these are just a few of my favorites.

I hope you are enjoying your summer so far and taking time out to appreciate the little things!
