Magic Cookie Bars...yes please!

Magic Cookie Bars...yes please!

I'm pretty sure everyone has their own version of magic cookie bars. Some may call them by a different name, but in the end they are essentially the same thing. And yes, they are truly magical.

This is one dessert that my oldest son can't get enough of. These bars are his favorite thing, and I used to make them as birthday treats for him to take to school when he was little. Now he's in high school so I can't do that anymore. That makes me a little sad.

This recipe is quick and easy and doesn't take many ingredients. I would recommend making them soon...very soon. Like tonight. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs (I made my own crumbs by pulsing graham crackers in the food processor, but you can use the pre-packaged crumbs as well)
½ cup butter, melted
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups (12 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:

Heat oven to 350°F. Coat 13 x 9-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Combine graham cracker crumbs and butter in small bowl. Press into bottom of pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumb mixture. Layer evenly with chocolate chips, coconut and pecans. Press down firmly with fork.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Loosen from sides of pan while still warm; cool on wire rack. Cut into bars.
