This was my first time attending Mitten Moms, actually it was first blogger conference ever! I learned so much, met some amazing bloggers, as well as some pretty cool sponsors, and just had a great time overall.
The conference was held at the Adoba Hotel in Dearborn, MI. I was highly impressed with the hotel overall. We had great accommodations and the hotel staff was very attentive to our needs during our entire stay.
Liz from The Lemon Bowl gave a fantastic cooking demo during the conference, and shared with us three amazing no-cook breakfast ideas.
These Overnight Refrigerator Oats were the bomb!
Peanut Butter Banana Oat Smoothie
The peanut butter banana oat smoothie was fabulous. I never thought about adding oats to my smoothie, but I definitely will from now on!! Super delicious, full of protein and it fills you up. Here's the recipe so you can try it for yourself at home:
1 cup skim milk
1 cup vanilla yogurt-low fat
1 cup oats
1/4 cup natural peanut butter
1 tsp cinnamon
2 large scoops, or more, of ice
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and puree until smooth. For a thicker smoothie, add more ice.
In addition to the great line up of speakers, we also had a hands on cooking demo with Phillip Baxman, Executive Chef at the Adoba Hotel. I had so much fun making fresh mozzarella!
Curds getting ready to be mixed with hot water and formed into mozzarella!
Chef Baxman showing us how it's done!
My beautiful little mozzarella balls!
Also, thanks to the amazing sponsors we had, I received a ton of swag! Each attendee received two beautiful bags filled with goodies as part of our attendance, plus I won a raffle and got two more bags of stuff!
Check out all my swag!!
Once again I want to thank the United Dairy Industry of Michigan for sponsoring me to attend the Mitten Moms Conference! This was an amazing opportunity and I really did learn a lot, including lots of valuable information about dairy products. I hope to attend the conference again next year!
