We love cheese in our house. I mean we really, really love it. I use many different types of cheese in my recipes, plus I always have several varieties in the frig just for snacking. Knowing this, you can imagine my excitement when I was approached to work on a campaign for Arla Dofino cheese. Of course I jumped at it!

Since school is back in session, my goal was to create a healthy lunch or after school snack for my kids with Arla Dofino cheese. Made by Arla Foods, Arla Dofino has delicious cheese flavors including Havarti, Gouda, Edam and Fontina. All the cheeses are free of added hormones and crafted with quality, natural ingredients in an environmentally friendly way.

Did you know Arla Foods is the sixth largest dairy company in the world? They are a large cooperative owned by dairy farmers and have been making their cheese in Kaukauna, Wisconsin for over 100 years! Their goal is to ensure all of their products remain closer to nature, from farm to fridge.

I went out and grabbed the Creamy Havarti and Dill Havarti varieties and set off to work! I decided to create an easy, yet hearty, after school snack. My youngest has football practice every day after school and is always starving when he gets home! The Havarti, Fig & Apple Crostini that I created is perfect, and is very quick and easy to make. We love the combination of crisp bread, creamy and tangy havarti, and the sweetness from the fig and apple.

Ingredients:
4 thick slices Whole Grain Baguette
4 tsp fig spread
4 slices Arla Dofino Creamy Havarti Cheese
